The Green Outline A New Vision

Salon Waste To Be Embraced!

Salon #WasteEmbraced as The Green Become A Member Of The Green Salon Collective!

We have spent lots of time during the last year focussing on
improving our personal and professional sustainability and our
Green team have been exploring ways to reduce our carbon
footprint. We are delighted to announce that we have now
formed an exciting new partnership as we join forces with The
Green Salon Collective to enable us to embrace our salon waste
and all for the good of our environment!
Founded by environmental experts, hairdressers & eco campaigners,
GREEN SALON COLLECTIVE is the original authority on salon
sustainability throughout the UK and Ireland wide.

With our new Green Salon Collective recycling system implemented,
we will recycle almost every single piece of “rubbish” and turn it into
something new. We now recycle and recover our hair, used foils,
empty colour tubes, chemicals, PPE, plastic & Paper.

We have been provided with separation kits that will mean we can
separate our waste for daily collections. As a salon, we are passionate
that we work ethically and responsibly to limit our carbon footprint.

Another thing Green Salon Collective are proud to recycle is the
profits. 100% of any money raised from recycling raw materials or
new products made from your waste goes to charity. By recycling
profits, every month we can support charities and organisations that
are close to our hearts. These currently include the following:
Foodcycle – Haircuts 4 The Homeless – Tree Planting.

For our very own hairdressers in Horsforth, we believe the biggest
winner here is that we protect and reward the planet. We are
diverting easily recyclable materials that are currently being sent to
landfill. These are materials such as aluminium foil which is a
commodity that can be recycled an infinite amount of times. We’ll
also recycle your hair to ensure that it will be used to either help
absorb oil from our waterways, be added into gardeners composting
mixes, or if it’s long enough, be donated to wig making charities.
There is absolutely no reason why either of these materials should be
thrown away as general waste just to end up in the ground.
We welcome all our clients and friends to share any ideas or
suggestions on how we can further improve our salon sustainability.
If you have any thoughts then we’d love you to discuss them with
your stylist on your next visit, pop them in an email or even send a
Direct Message via social media.
